The production for the sequel to the gripping horror film is officially underway, as intriguing glimpses from behind the scenes have begun to surface. The director, known for his work in the genre, has provided an enigmatic sneak peek, which piques the curiosity of fans eager for details about this upcoming installment. With filming in full swing for the horror sequel, the director offered a peek at the set featuring a chair marked with the sequel's title. 

The announcement came alongside a caption revealing that filming had commenced that day, adding an air of anticipation surrounding the project. The sequel will see the return of Ethan Hawke as the malevolent figure who preys on children. The original film featured a young boy, portrayed by another actor, who was taken captive by this sinister character. A pivotal aspect of the story involved a phone located in the captor's basement, which allowed the boy to communicate with previous victims. 

Ultimately, he managed to escape, overcoming his captor's dark grip. In this follow-up, both Hawke and the original young lead will reprise their roles, joined by additional cast members. A notable actor has also been added to the ensemble, and the director will helm a screenplay he co-wrote with a seasoned collaborator. 

While information about the sequel remains sparse, one significant point of intrigue involves the fate of Hawke's character. In the previous film, the protagonist had seemingly put an end to the threat posed by this grim figure.
