BLAST Unveils Exciting Changes for Rainbow Six: Siege 2025 Competitive Season

As the current competitive season of Rainbow Six: Siege is drawing to a close, BLAST has set its sights on the 2025 season, unveiling several notable modifications to the schedule.

The upcoming season will commence in May with an inaugural event and continue through to February, culminating in the next Six Invitational. During this timeline, various stages of competition will unfold. Stage 1 is planned for June and July, followed by a significant 'third-party event' expected to be the Esports World Cup in August. Stage 2 is scheduled to occur between August and October, leading to a Major in November and concluding with Regional Finals in December. Additionally, Last Chance qualifiers for the Six Invitational are scheduled for December and January, with Challenger Series events resuming in March as part of the offseason activities.

A key development includes the merging of nine regional leagues into four more focused divisions. Europe, MENA, and Türkiye will unite under the EML league, while North America and Central America will be represented in the NAL. Brazil and South LATAM will compete in the SAL, and a fourth league consolidating Japan, Korea, Oceania, and Asia will be designated as the APL. This restructuring aims to enhance the level of competition across the board.

With the introduction of new regional leagues, there are inquiries about how these changes influence local tournaments. It has been clarified that the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Playoffs will qualify the top teams for the Regional Finals. The strongest four teams from each region's Stage 2 Playoffs will earn their spots in the November Major. A unique aspect of the APL will involve a Major Qualifications bracket between the Playoffs and the Major, determining the four participating teams.

When it comes to the Six Invitational, the teams vying for a spot will include the Major winner, the champions from each region, the Last Chance victors, and the top 11 squads based on the global standings.

Lastly, for the R6 Share partner teams, each of the regions will feature five partnered squads, and a visual representation of these teams can be viewed in the accompanying image.
