Control Developer is “Well Aware” of Co-op Multiplayer Challenges with Condor

Remedy Entertainment has been making headlines with their sequel to the critically acclaimed Alan Wake 2. In addition, they are pushing the envelope further by working on multiple high-profile projects. Among these are expansions, a sequel to their hit title Control (which they intend to self-publish), and eagerly awaited remakes for the first two Max Payne games. Adding another layer to their ambitious slate is Condor, a project stepping into the cooperative multiplayer arena, aiming to carve its unique space alongside titles such as Helldivers 2.
Despite the excitement, the company is proceeding with caution, learning from instances like the less-than-stellar reception of Suicide Squad's latest game. Thomas Puha, Remedy’s communications director, shared insights via Twitter on the challenges of conquering the cooperative multiplayer market. He expressed a balanced outlook of optimism and realism regarding the venture. Highlighting the unpredictable nature of game development, Puha remarked on how releasing any game nowadays seems like an accomplishment in itself. He touched on the sentiment that even if Condor doesn't become a runaway success, it will serve as an invaluable experience for the team.
Set in the universe of Control, Condor's narrative revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control's efforts to reclaim their base, the Oldest House, from an entity known as the Hiss. The game is being developed using Remedy’s Northlight engine and is slated for release on platforms including Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. With plans to ramp up production within the year, anticipation for Condor continues to build as it promises to deliver a new spin on the Control saga.
