Monster Hunter Series Tops 97 Million Units Sold

In its most recent financial overview for Q3 of fiscal year 2023/24, encompassing the months of October through December, Capcom delivered some impressive statistics for the Monster Hunter franchise. The globally popular series has reached a new milestone, with cumulative sales reaching 97 million units, marking a noticeable increase of 2 million since the previous quarter's report, which showcased a total of 95 million units.

Diving deeper into individual titles, Monster Hunter World has reached a commendable figure of 19.1 million units in sales. Considering the bundled sales of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition, this number jumps to a staggering 24.1 million units. The Iceborne expansion on its accounts for 11.6 million of those units. Another title in the series, Monster Hunter Rise, continues to perform nicely with 14.2 million units sold, while its expansion, Sunbreak, follows closely with 7.1 million in sales.

Anticipation is growing for the next significant chapter in the Monster Hunter saga, called Monster Hunter Wilds, which Capcom has slated for release in 2025. The announcement of this upcoming game led to a renewed interest in Monster Hunter World, culminating in the highest number of simultaneous players recorded for the game on Steam in the last three years. As Capcom gears up for the franchise's future, Monster Hunter Wilds is poised to contribute to the series' continued popularity and commercial success.
