New Horizons Unveiled: New World Debuts on Consoles with Aeternum Update

New World reaches new horizons with its debut on consoles, alongside an extensive game revamp dubbed New World: Aeternum.

The festivities at the Summer Game Fest, orchestrated by Geoff Keighley, once again became a centerpiece of conversation within the global gaming circles. The event was a hotspot for updates on existing titles and reveals of upcoming video games slated for release in the forthcoming months.

Amazon Game Studios seized the opportune moment at this grand event to unveil their latest project, New World: Aeternum, with considerable flair. Indeed, the team behind the previously PC-only MMORPG has been diligently working behind the scenes to transport their expansive universe to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. This venture not only transitions the game onto new platforms but also reimagines it entirely, offering both previous PC gamers and newcomers alike an enriched journey through Aeternum. Console gamers are poised to explore Aeternum's wonders and perils for the first time, with the console version encompassing everything from the original New World on PC, such as the full game, all the prior updates, and the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion, in addition to a host of new content.

"New World: Aeternum represents a pivotal moment of achievement following years of hard work and collaboration with the fervent gaming community who have traversed the initial New World on PC," said Christoph Hartmann, Amazon Games's vice president. "Incorporating player feedback is a cornerstone of our development process, and we are confident that New World: Aeternum fulfills the aim of providing a renewed and captivating New World experience accessible across different platforms."

Designed with console gaming in mind, New World: Aeternum maintains parity with the PC version and features cross-play capabilities. The rollout on these platforms will commence on 15th of October, with the Standard Edition tagged at €59.99 and the Deluxe Edition available for €79.99. Additional benefits such as a bear mount and armor skin come packed with the Deluxe Edition. Note that a PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core subscription will be necessary for gameplay.
