Ubisoft Plans Enhancements to Stealth Gameplay in Star Wars Outlaws Following Player Feedback
09 Sep 2024
Players concerned about the frustrating stealth elements in Star Wars Outlaws can take heart, as a solution is in development to address these challenging segments. Many have likely found it exasperating to have their missions abruptly end upon being detected by an enemy, resulting in a loss of progress and the need to restart from earlier points in the game.
Fortunately, Ubisoft Massive, the game's developer, recognizes this issue and is committed to improvements. In a recent discussion with GamesRadar+, creative director Julian Gerighty acknowledged the harsh difficulty and indicated that it is something they plan to enhance moving forward. He noted that the current experience is not what they aimed for, and they are aware of the need for adjustments.
Gerighty further elaborated that while they do not anticipate removing failure states entirely, there are plenty of straightforward solutions that can make the game feel much smoother and more user-friendly. Many of these challenging stealth moments occur right at the game's beginning in the expansive world of Mirogana, which can create a frustrating initial experience for newcomers.
The intention is to ensure that the gameplay feels fair, a sentiment Gerighty strongly echoed. He admitted that the difficulty level was not the team's original goal, pointing out that these issues emerged unexpectedly late in the development process. Fans can expect a patch to address these concerns shortly, potentially within the next week or so.
This update will certainly be welcomed by prospective players and those keen to dive back into their adventures. Despite these noted difficulties, Managing Editor Rob Dwiar expressed admiration for the game's overall presentation in his review, praising its richly detailed world, stunning visuals, and authentic elements that are likely to excite dedicated fans of the franchise.
Star Wars Outlaws is currently obtainable for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, and the PC.
